In would say, that Tatis will not play as long as Tony, but the guy is a better all around player than him.
If Tatis brings our city a championship l, how close and how fast will we elevate Tatis to Gwynn?

Not gonna pretend I'm a Padres historian or even watched many games, but the fact that (at the time of my vote) 41% of people are saying yes is pretty shocking to me. The legend Tony Gwynn, also known as Mr. Padre is the only answer. Even Trevor Hoffman is a better Padre so far. Tatis can get there for sure, but after 3 seasons??? Yikes.

Ask anyone who watched Tony play, Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers, stole bases he did it all for a long time. Tatis is good, but best ever will take a while to see.

Not at this stage of his career, as a long time padre fan i can tell you that besides the obvious (T. Gwynn), the best player i've seen in a Padre uniform was #31 Dave Winfield, he was a true 5 tool player (hitting, hitting for power, running, fielding and throwing), sadly he was never paid what he was worth and took his talent over to the NY Yankees. Tatis is well on his way and he's locked up till forever it seems lol
