I don't think the word is defund, I think re-organize, re-asses, clean-up would probably be the better statement. Jumping straight to defunding/ending seems a bit extreme and not advisable. Christian said it well, lawlessness wouldn't benefit anyone.

Reform, restructure, reorganize, clean up etc... yes. If anything perhaps more funding to do so...training, better background checks, better quality phycological checks... better, less lethal weapons and get rid of “bad apples”

I guess they mean redirect certain funds. However, I disagree with that, too. I'm not an expert on anything, but I think lawless wouldn't benefit any community.

There is a misconception about defunding the police. What they are really saying is that the money that is used to buy military like hardware should be going towards social programs.

Funny how prominent white liberals are pushing this non sense but they'll continue to afford their private armed protection. People in the inner city are victims of crime perpetuated by those in the same community, this idea will greatly endanger  those in poor areas

I agree but they have lost the battle of the message. Liberals in the media are blaming the media for distorting their message, many on this side of the issue continue to use this phrase.
