Who would you rather build your team around?

This will be the age old question.
If you think Jordan can’t do anything lebron can do that’s a conversation we can have. I have seen Lebron be slowed by a lesser player, I have seen him lose to lesser teams. With less games and a shorter career Jordan did more.
Curry has as many titles as lebron no one in Jordan’s era has more titles or any where close. So if I’m picking someone to build around most importantly I want a guy who won’t jump shit and change teams in his prime...... twice!

Happy this isn't a "who is better" argument (because it's LeBron). Can't deny MJ and his dominance: scoring champion, defensive force, 6x NBA Champ. But you gotta build your locker room around Bron. Bron gets it done on and off the court. He's the best teammate you can have, who routinely makes the right *basketball play*. Makes those around him better time in and time out. Leader in all categories of the game, can guard all 5 spots and play all 5 spots on the floor. Plus he took the Cavs back in 06/07 by himself lol. Should have won Finals MVP when they lost to the warriors in '10/'11. The guy has been the best player in the NBA since he stepped into the league.

I must admit, the Jordan documentary is fresh in my mind, and having that type of access makes this an easy answer for me...MJ in his prime all the way. I would argue that anyone who says LeBron, votes that way because LeBron actually seems like a sweet and genuine guy, regardless of his flip flopping teams from CLE to MIA back to CLE to LA, whereas Jordan was and still is kind of a rude dick to people. And MJ knew that would come out in this doc, which is why I admire hum, for granting us that type of access.

King James would be my pick. In their prime he was bigger stronger faster.

Seeing how competitive and what a leader he was for his team was a great reminder of how great he was.

Jason Finley

Michael Jordan, he made his teammates want to be better every night and compete with him.

At times LeBron was the only one competing while playing with the Cavs.

Also comparing MJ to LeBron has always been a hot topic. Because I don't see how you can compare the 2 stat wise when Jordan entered the league around 22 and LeBron entered around 19. MJ took a season off. So, of course LeBron will have more points. I also feel that the league was better defense wise compared to the league now .

We've seen multiple teams succeed building around LeBron.

Then again, I never saw Jordan play, so I'm biased

The Red Pimp

6 Rings. He is the Goat. He makes everyone better around him. Build around the best. MJ for sure!

Both are awesome, but # of titles says it all.

Derrick McQuinn

i feel like he was better leader on the court

MaryBeth Zmuda

Magic Johnson anyone? Dude get's absolutely no respect in these discussions.

Different game then and I’m old, MJ all day

Michael has proven to be the better leader of teams to championships. He made everyone better by holding them accountable to his standards.

Isaac Ramirez

LeBron has had to pick his teams to win. Not Michael. Don't get me wrong, LeBron is incredible but MJ is GOAT.

DUH, Jordan will push anyone to their absolute very best. You may not like it, but if you survive him, you will have a new level of expectation for yourself.

If you have ever had a mentor or competitive teammate that you 'bought into' you know your game or career elevated due to the relationship. If you slack it will be called out. I am sure Lebron has these traits as well, but not like MJ.

He took a variety of different squads and elevated them from great to elite.

I pretend like I know, but i have no idea. Jordan is just close to my heart. Childhood memories and all...

DB, you crushed on the podcast, thank you, let me know how Incan be of service to Vizer!

Don't let his smile on camera fool you, Lebron is also a ruthless dude who's gladly chastised, made their lives miserable, and pushed them aside (by leaving, or getting his players via trade) over his career to get his. Just like with Jordan, most fans don't really want to see what goes on behind closed doors.

You make a VERY compelling case, and frankly I agree, LeBron is the better teammate and the better person. LeBron seems arrogant but polite, whereas we now know MJ was just a dick to a lot of people!

MJ was never afraid to go to work and not only set the example, but to set expectations of his team mates. He made them better

Anyone who has played ball knows people talk shit, are competitive as fuck, and that not all players are created equal. Lebron's proven he is one of the all time greats, no doubt, and and I'm sure the Heat/Cavs fans of the 2010s will all come to his defense. But for anyone who witnessed Jordan live in his prime and saw what he did to the Pistons, Lakers, Blazers, Sonics, Suns, and Jazz back in the day, recognize his greatness. The only player that I'd take above MJ would be Magic Johnson. His drive to win paralleled MJ's. I prefer his style of play.

All totally valid, but you know the issue JB, kids today see MJ treat others the way he did, and they can't handle the toughness. LeBron seems nicer to people, so the softer younger generations will say Bron.
