Healthcare workers should get paid in addition to their salary until they can ALL be provided with sufficient protective equipment.

Yes, as a Healthcare worker myself we are going into work each day not knowing what we may encounter. I’ve been working at Kaiser hospital for over 12 years now. Love the Healthcare field. We all go into work trying to make a difference and help the patients that we care for.. At this time especially because family and friends are not allowed in the hospital. If you are a sick patient you are basically by yourself, so we are there to take care of them and care for them. As of now there are 14 cases of Covid-19 patient s in the ICU. Us workers are risking are health and families health everyday.

The service the people are providing now is absolutely heroic, and absolutely NOT part of the job description. These health care professionals are like the NYPD and NYFD that went into the twin towers, with no fear, and never thinking def first! YES they should be paid more now, in particular! Like war time benefits!

Totally agree... exceptional times call for exceptional heroes and they should absolutely be rewarded.  Shout out to all those working the front lines sacrificing themselves and loved ones while helping others and their loved ones fight through this!

It doesn't seem fair to me to ask healthcare workers to go into hospitals knowing that they are more than likely going to get the coronavirus, without the appropriate equipment.  I don't know if increased compensation is the right answer, but there needs to be some kind of change to acknowledge the sacrifices being made.

Normally I would answer that "they signed up for this work and are well paid." Nonsense, it is shameful that we are not protecting these nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals - having them wear the same mask day in and day out, not have all the protection they need and expect them to work non-stop with the same pay is disrespectful.
