We are already seeing a rise in cases in DC, where large protests are happening.  This is by no means a statement that the protests should stop - but it is a scary potential outcome of an already terrible situation

I don't think so. Nobody is even talking about it anymore.
it will have a little spike but not like you think.

Yes, but who's validating the numbers.  At this point I'm not sure what to believe.  I noticed since all the protesting going on Covid has been silent... What's really going on??

It's such a shame that protesters can't do it right - they should be showing they are better than that. Distance, wear masks and protest vigorously. The violence is inappropriate despite the obvious injustice with George Floyd and others. But despite numerous reasons to be frustrated, angry and in many cases depressed, lawful activities rule. After all of my rant, I can say it probably won't have a material impact on COVID-19 numbers.

I would think that these large gatherings would result in an increase in COVID cases.

However, the importance of these protests could outweigh the risk.

If there is going to be spread, what is happening out there is certainly going to be of higher risk.

I believe there will be another increase, not just around the protests but a necessary “evil” as we transition back to opening things up again... something I think we should have started a month or so ago.

I don't think it will be directly from the protests if it does, but the outside should help prevent some spread.

Hopefully not but it just has to, protests are packed with people, it only takes one infected person
