Both are dynamic players but Embiid is crucial to championship level success for the Sixers, Simmons is not. Simmons could be replaced by another above average point guard, one who can shoot the rock and make foul shots as well as be a playmaker and be just as well, if not better cuz Ben cannot shoot the pill. The name of the game is “Basketball” not “Passketball” or “Passtheball” and the whole point of the game is to put the ball in the basket . . . And Simmons - who does so many things very well - is not just a bad shooter but worse, is scared to shoot the ball. 
Simply put, Embiid is not replaceable. The Sixers cannot even win games when Embiid sits out. Obvious answer is that Embiid is more important to the Sixers than Simmons.
