The 2020 "Triple Crown" will have an asterisk (*) next to the winner for multiple reasons.

NO - Dealing with the Covid19 pandemic is hard enough, if a horse wins all 3, no asterisk.

YES - Regardless of order, the Crown is 3 races in 5 weeks, culminating with 1.5 mile race.

New normal, man! No sports season is the same this year. 2020 will have an asterisk in general, so each sport will have to deal with it. Baseball shortened season, B-ball same, hickey, maybe football, no fans, etc. Suck it up. Triple Crown no different.

The aspect of difficulty in running three races in a short 5 week span is a major element of what makes a Triple Crown win so prestigious, rare and special.  For obvious reasons, this year that will not be possible, so if a horse wins all 3, great feat, BUT not without an asterisk (*).  The other problem is the Belmont marathon of 1-1/2 miles for the close, will not happen.  Think about how many more Crown winners there would've been if the Belmont was a 1-1/8th?
