This is a tough one as the ball didn't fall into the cup because it wasn't permitted to fall into the cup.  However, you can strike the raised cup liner on the outer edges and technically the putt is good even though it may have burned the edge or hopped across the dreaded "cellophane bridge" and missed.Having only had one hole in one in my life, I know how difficult and how special it is and I couldn't count one on a raised cup as a legitimate hole-in-one.

What number did you write on scorecard?  If USGA considers it official round then it is officially hole in one.  Now, some would question hole in one on executive course.

I don't get why they would consider changing the rules because of a virus.The two things don't seem to be related.
