The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have Franchise Tagged WR Chris Godwin (1 year, $16M). Good or Bad use of the Franchise Tag?

All Things Football

The Bucs keep around a big time playmaker with this move. $16M was probably around what he would be making if he went into free agency, too. The price is t too bad. All around great move by Tampa Bay.

now I don't think they can tag david
they need daivd more than godwin. the WR is easly got back but a good LB is different

He's the worst WR to be tagged. Would have kept the tag for Shaq Barrett. You got receivers. Don't forget that Howard is coming back and they could have brought AB back too.

To level player. Good deal for the player and the Bucs. I am sure Brady explained he wanted him.

Good answer, I voted for you even it probably makes you the winner on this!

They re-signed Lavonte David to a 2 year $25M deal yesterday :)

Franchise Tags are not still going on. It closed last night at 4pm EST. Golladay, Fuller, Smith-Schuster, etc. must be re-signed or released within the next week.

Well there was a possibility if Juju and Golloday. Also tagging is still going on. Also decisions on guys like Will Fuller, Corey Davis, and Curtis Samuel haven't been announced

To be fair, only 2 receivers were tagged.
