Big Green Egg Grilling Tips - Cali BBQ Media

Big Green Egg is a more versatile piece of equipment for your summer cooking sessions. You can slow smoke a brisket on it, use it to grill a rib-eye and even use it to bake a pizza.

Shawn P. Walchef

You cannot get the real smoke flavor on a pellet grill like you can on the Big Green Egg!!

Jerry McCray

I'm a Weber guy but Traeger has great reviews and would be my next choice. Good luck this summer, most important is to have the accessories that you want and need, not the brand so long as it has good reviews which Traeger clearly has!

Most versatile grill out there. Can do anything between 180-1000 degrees and do it better. Also will last forever and has a lifetime warranty on the ceramics.

Of the 2 in question Big green egg. I mostly deal with pellets. I sell them haha but I do not like Traeger for number of reasons. There are better pellet grill companies with better service. I do want to get a green egg and learn on it

I had to choose Traeger only because between the two that’s my choice. If you want to get down to it, a Weber kettle grill with charcoal and some wood chunks will produce the best burgers and steaks. For Smoking and you want to use a pellet grill Green Mountain, Rec Tec, and Yoder make better units. Traeger got cheep when they WERE the standard & then outsourced to China. You can cook everything you can think of on a Big Green Egg and get that charcoal flavor that you can’t achieve on a Traeger

The most versatile grill out there you can cook anything between 180-1000 degrees.
Get an Egg it will elevate your cooking and will last forever.

I love the Big green egg. It cooks the best.

Albert Long

Never had either but from what I've heard both are great but the Egg is superior.

Derrick McQuinn

The Big Green Egg gives more smoke flavor then the a Traeger. And if I am going to use a pellet grill i use a Yoder it’s a superior product to the Traeger.

Ron Gladnick

It easily cooks at 225 to 800 degrees even in the winter. Best Grill flavor over open flames and adds more smokeflavor while low and slow and roasting. Bakes better than any oven. Life time warranty! Hard to beat an egg...

Let the big green egg stabilized at the cooking temp for a little while before adding your meat

I love the charcoal flavor, my daughters don't love it. What do you suggest?
