Would you still attend a sporting event now that Covid-19 is getting worse?

I personally think that we are gong to learn to live with this virus vs getting rid of it. There is a fine balance to be met between full social isolation and the norm - I think it is smart that we finally are taking it more seriously to slow it down, but in a month or so we'll be going back to our normal lives, including sports!

What sporting events are even out there to attend anymore?

The Red Pimp

If the experts don’t cancel it and it’s being played...I’m there! Beers on me AP!

Joe Rigby

yea I probably would but I think I would prefer events in outdoor stadiums.

Stingray

Despite the nonsense out of our President's mouth this is NOT just like the flu. This is a real danger and in case you missed it the world is slowly shutting down.

Stu Schreiber

I think I am avoiding for now as I don't want to get this

I am not listening to the media, although that is always on the news now, fake or not. Instead, I will listen to the doctors. I will be take the necessary precautions as best as I can, but I am not buying into the over-hype.

Keith Klipfel

hell yes. I'll be drinking at the beer garden at the Strike Force game. I found two wallets this week, lots of credit cards to use for drinks!

fightforSD

I'm not a risk taker and I 'm over 60 years old.

Teresa Swift

I love sports and attending games, and with all due respect to Scott and AP for not wanting to buy into "the media hype", but it's important that we put this all into context, everyday there are an increasing amount of people people who are getting sick and dying from this, particularly older folks. Livelihoods are being altered, truth!

We were all set to leave at 7am tomorrow morning to go for the Pac 12 Tournament in Vegas. Was hoping they wouldn't ban fans but got the bad news tonight and cancelled the trip. Was definitely planning on still going

Dan Waddell

Yep still planning to go to spring training next week, well of course unless its gets cancelled in which then no I am not. I think saying a third of the US population may be going a little far. Considering there are only a 100,000 or so confirmed cases worldwide, which lets say that 1/2 of people who have it actually got found and double that number then maybe 200-300K cases world wide. I'd say that 75-100 Million just here is a far stretch.

The virus can reportedly remain infectious in the air for over 3 hours, up to 9 days on surfaces. We need to slow it down.

steven white

any attempt at limited contact can help to lessen the rapid spread of the virus. I understand a lot of people (including me) would not be very much effected by the virus, but we have to take into account that there are people out there that would most likely die from it. I honestly don't care if you want to go get frozen yogurt this afternoon. Help out your fellow man, keep your germs to yourself and stay inside.

Hey if you practice good hygiene, are healthy, you should be safe. This pandemic is just freaking everyone out. It’s scarying me because I got kids and everyone knows how kids are, germ wise.

Coach Perez

Unfortunately, that does put you in a greater at risk category. If you were a man, that risk increased, from all the accounts that I have heard and read.

So very true, I would not be surprised if the Olympics in Tokyo were to get cancelled.

Welp, sound like that actually is happening. So Shit
