With how many people in this world have lost jobs completely or taken a pay cut at the job that they hopefully still have, this guy is tone deaf with what he makes.   How would he like to be a front line worker making way less than him - think they are not taking on risk?  This guy is a clown.

Look, Snell can do and say whatever he wants. The players association is going to negotiate this deal on behalf of all players. Unless he wants to break from the ranks, he is going to have to fall in line eventually. The problem I have with his response is that if his stance plays out and there is no season, he is not considering the other players who come from very different economic worlds and humble beginnings who would gladly take a 20 percent cut to continue to change their family financial DNA. Ultimately, Snell is merely trying to hold the owners accountable to pay him what they agreed to prior to Covid19. I can't imagine this stance working for too long if fans are not permitted to attend and help owners maintain revenues, operational costs, and profits. But Snell sounds like an entitled American no doubt. But MLB labor history is nasty, so just another chapter being expressed here. Nice question Browner, where do you stand?

The owners and their greed is also something that isn't being addressed enough in this discussion. They just haven't gone on camera yet and showed their true intentions like Snell just did.

I'm frustrated with Snell.  He is getting paid to play a game.  With unemployment at an all time high, people are having hard times and would be happy to work.  Then there is Snell.  I don't get it.

It's bullshit to say he is risking his life. Really? The chances of a young athlete dying of COVID-19 when every player will be tested is so minute that lightning would strike as often. Ok, would you believe getting killed in a car accident? How about a heart attack? Seriously, this tarnishes the image of athletes. There will be no profits this year --for any business owner. Keep saying that everyone will take a financial hit due to COVID shutdown. Pro players, state workers and your average person can expect to lose income because of this pandemic.

Nice take Jason, I hadn't initially thought of it in that way... Snell is definitely not the best ambassador that MLB has available to them right now to express the type of empathy with the public that you are speaking to, that's for sure. Sports have always reflected our societal values.
