As AEW makes its tv debut tonight will we finally have some competition for wwe?

Just as WWE wants to compete with the NFL, with the revived XFL, another wrestling league should want to compete, as WWE has essentially monopolized wrestling since it ate up WCW. Tell me more about this new wrestling alliance, are there any established stars? Where is it televised or on an OTT channel? All ears!

I think it will take time because wcw had a lot of old wwe/wwf talent so people were familiar with some of the faces.  AEW has a lot of indie guys and some ex wwe guys, but I think it will take some time before AEW is a legit challenge to WWE there has to be some big event that takes place like the NWO angle, but it can't be the same. I think it's fresh new and people will tune in, but it wont be competition for a couple years..

AEW has a TV deal with TNT they air at 8pm on WED nights same night as WWE NXT, most wrestling fans are calling it the Wendsday night war, a nod to the Monday night wars of the mid ninties. 

 AEW has a lot of similarities to WCW and the whole wcw nitro war with wwe raw.   They were both on tnt and had some ex wwe talent, and now offer some  relief from only WWE on TV.  

Aew has a lot of japan, and inide stars, but household or ex wwe names you might know are,Chris Jericho, JR, Cody rodes, Moxley(Dean ambrose), Jack swagger, dustin rodes (golddust),

I think they can be a threat they have great talent, but need some big name splashes from wwe to put them on the map and a serious threat.
