If it can be done, why not? I think it is one option that helps get the Chargers back here while still helping San Diego State. As alumni of the school and ex Charger fan, I think this would be a tremendous win for the city economically and even simply for morale. With that though, I think questions come into play such as how much of that land is needed for actual campus and not just for entertainment/sports use. I’d have to be fact checked, but I do remember from when the Chargers were going through the stadium issues hearing from “experts” interviewed that universities were one of the best economic investments a city can make. If this holds true I would believe that expansion of SDSU plus a new state of the art stadium would help immensely by bringing the NFL back plus any events the new building brings with it. Imagine Taylor Swift at the center of a bunch of college kids, would outdraw NFL. And hopefully, if the Aztecs can continue on field success, it can lure a conference into taking them in so we also have major college football being played here as well. Of course with all this comes the battle of who gets what slice of what pie, and that will probably be what kills this as we are accustomed to seeing here

want my team back but not with Dean spanos unless he does a very sincere apology to the city of San Diego and cries and begs for forgiveness

Toby McDonald

At the minimum any potential partnership would probably have to 1 wait till tue next mayor is elected 2 the main negotiators would probably have to be the League Office, SDSU and (fingers crossed) Mayor Barbara Brye or Richard Hansen. IF Oakland can forgive Al Davis then San Diego will eventually forgive Dean Spanos

As much as I would hate for dean to come back and give us more of his mediocre product I'd buy season tickets day one. Lets go!!

The damage is done. Any good will that existed is gone. The Dean Spanos treated the fans like garbage the entire time in San Diego. The support of San Diego fans built your wealth to the level it is.This entitled scum bag has never shown a ounce of appreciation to the San Diego fanbase. They only way that the stadium partner deal is with different ownership. Which you would think Spanos would cash out. Where else can you be rewarded 50 times your investment by failing for over 30 years.

Yes absolutely!!! This is a chance for Spanos to right the wrong. Get the team back down to SD, offer up some cash to help with the construction costs, etc, and a simple apology to the fans in San Diego. Putting the team back where it belongs is SO needed!!
