“Well, can I carry the empty ones, just for the camera?” Pence asks.

Is Trump Administration response to Coronavirus a "Big Box of Nothing?"

Yes: Our Covid-19 death toll is a result of a nothing response

No: Death toll is despite a substantive response

VERIFIED

Only taking this side, because I truly believe that Trump got terrible information from terrible advisors. I am still convinced that there is some massive international political collusion going on and Trump surprisingly I'd say is not a part of that. Since he's not a puppet to the elite criminals of this world, I believe they just left him in the dark. How can you make decisions when you are more or less uninformed or misinformed? Never thought I'd say this but I agree with Trump, "Fake News!"

Coach Alex

Response seems pretty decent depending where you lived and while the overall amount of deaths seem high, its still really not that high if you look at our overall population. Or if you look at how many people die everyear from like smoking.

Trust me I give Trump no credit but here’s the truth. It’s a virus that has been around since December in this country (my wife has 2 nurse friends that had it mid-December). It also will/did spread because that is what viruses do. Like the flu, H1N1 (which 24-50% of the worlds population got) it will spread regardless. The factor that should deem an appropriate response is how deadly any given virus is. In this case when factoring in those who have been exposed (not just those who got treatment) it falls right in line with the flu. So ultimately the decision I do blame him for is ignorance which is pretty normal for him and the economic, psychological carnage that has been caused. That was under his watch!

I can't stand this administration, and while they were slow to respond they did respond and take action. However this is just another politician playing a game, any politician on the left or right would do the same thing. Only diference is this one was stupid enough to say it out load in the open. I can't think of anyother one who would do that...well maybe Biden...

Yesid

The response was quicker than any other country despite being lied to by WHO and China--I guess liberals think Trump sucks and conservatives don't but this should really not be political as it is about health and the economy and it seems like the left talks health and right talks economy. They are both critical and Trump Administration has to balance that while taking daily shots from naysayers. My three cents!

So in a country of over 1 billion people how is there NOT a big resurgence of cases now that they have been fully opened for weeks? Is it magic? No it's truly not as deadly as we have been sold on. So now back to Trump. He is an idiot much of the time but in this case it's just a type of flu that is going around. I don't think his action not inaction was gonna make a difference. Its been here in the US since mid December and it is what it is.

This means the people do what the government says or else. 2) “confirmed cases” in the US DOES NOT require a positive test...simply that you to hospital/ER/Dr and said you had any one of the nearly 50' symptoms and were concerned. You are classified then as a “confirmed case”. In China only those tested as positive are classified this way. Hospitals receive $18k for a confirmed case and $39k if put on a ventilator FYI. And as of 3 weeks ago China is back to being fully opened (restaurants, bars, businesses, etc).

Because more people have been exposed to it here. The general population studies estimate that 20-50 times as many people as “confirmed” cases have/had it. This pits us at between 26-60 million exposed to virus. This puts our death rate at between .001 and .003 which is nearly identical to flu. The only country that had as many population centers as we due (thus a significant spread) would be China. China has 82,000+ confirmed to date. There are a few major differences: 1) China is still a communist country and individual freedom is not a right.

Then why do we have so many more deaths than any other country?

Can't disagree we need more testing. Skews the numbers now, COVID is deadly but not near as deadly as statistically unreliable data show. I'll admit my expertise doesn't include infectious disease but Trump can't win with the left--not that he helps with his narcissism and bluster.

Obama created the Pandemic response team which the Trump administration disbanded which made us ill-prepared to squash this virus as other countries have done. What I see from the Right is the total disregard for rule of law, and a willingness to defend to twist themselves into a pretzel to defend trump at any cost. We still don't have the testing and the PPE that we need. The more the virus spreads the greater the need is. So it doesn't matter how many have been tested so far if it still doesn't meet our needs.

And that is your opinion, Dan. As an independent, I am not able to understand why the left hates Trump more than caring for our country. I understand he is a narcissistic blowhard but conservatives just want balance between health and economics that cause deaths. I respectfully disagree with your assumption that it was Trump's fault. George Bush tried to warn us about a pandemic. Obama didn't do anything.

What are you talking about? The administration had months to prepare, didn't have adequate testing or tracing and now the demand is higher for both because of the spread and they still have not caught up. The downplaying of the virus by the administration and the conservatives caused millions to not take it seriously and quickened the spread.
