I get your point, but I would be hypocritical if I agreed. We should always stand by the weak, but word police is not where I am at.

It is possible that the woke will disagree and certainly many people, myself included, would not use that word. I've never heard Canseco speak, but if English is his second language, he gets a pass; if his intention was to misuse a word to hurt somebody, that's on him

Retarded can be used in several contexts, most of which are not offensive. Calling someone who has an actual learning deficiency retarded is repulsive (like when Trump mocked a handicapped reporter) but there is nothing wrong with calling my buddy who thinks he’s better looking than me retarded.
