Do you agree with HBO Max's decision to pull 'Gone with the Wind' from its library?

Why not scrap all entertainment, knowledge, philosophy, and rights for feelings. Should we just feel and not forge ahead?

It’s only down temporarily, they’ll add a disclaimer and put it back up.

This is a tough one. I can see how pulling it down for the time being could be soothing. But it is historically accurate (relatively) and a product of the times. I was wondering if in the future if movie companies could, instead of destroying these types of films or shelving them indefinitely, possibly they could add a verbal or written prologue that says the film was made in the past and does not represent how the company currently views similar issues and ideas. Then add a warning to please note the themes and ideas in the film before they watch. People can choose to then not watch if they choose. possibly any money made in the future could be donated appropriately?

Gone With the Wind is an American classic movie. It’s part of our history as well as slavery. Hiding the movie doesn’t help anything in my opinion.

No that’s stupid all that is censorship let people choose what they watch and decide if it has value or not. If it doesn’t people won’t watch

This doesn’t solve the problem. If anything, it makes it worse because we as a society are erasing history. Part of our problem is that we don’t always address how various groups have been portrayed negatively in the past. This leads to problems in the future.
