Whose "Heads" do you want to see "Roll" most if the Padres don't turn it around and make the playoffs in 2020?

Padres ownership seems to think Preller is some baseball genius. Where is the proof? For every good move, there seems to be 3 to 4 really bad moves. Can we agree both Hosmer and Myers were both a complete waste?Manny year 1, last place, again! Preller should be next to go, he was charged with building a winner, if the Padres are not competing for a playoff spot next season, Preller is toast! Or should be!

I think Preller has made some questionable moves but those moves were made out of desperation and the market. He felt at the time he could get Myers to a long term contract because he had no one else to market. Same with Hosmer. In hindsight not the best moves....but he did get us Tatis Jr. and the farm system is looking better than ever. I feel this off-season is the make or break for Preller. He has to get a number one starter, he needs to unload Myers some how some way....and if he can get rid of Hedges, that would be a bonus. There are other moves he needs to make too as far as the outfield go too.And of course getting the right manager. No one has thrown this guy's name into the mix but I absolutely love Dusty Baker. Bring this guy in for a couple years to work with the kids. Dusty will know how to get the most out of his star players, he's been around them all. That's my two cents.

Preller has done an amazing job restocking a farm system that was dormant since the late 80s with top prospects that actually panned out at the major league level (see Roberto and Sandy Alomar, Benito Santiago, etc.) As a GM focused on selecting a coaching staff, player development, and having success at the major league level, he has been a bust so far and show that he is most suited to be a international scout or farm director. The next coach they hire will ultimately determine his fate. He has to hire someone with WS experience and someone who is not bowing to the analytic gods that dominate the game.

Two dud contracts in Myers/Hosmer. One more on the way if they don’t get a serious bat to protect Manny. Notice how when Reyes was dealt it defused the offense’s engine? Renfroe broke down and went into a tailspin and the team went down with him. Tatis is their best player, when healthy. It’s concerning that he’s missed significant playing time the past 2 seasons due to injury. I just hope he isn’t the Padres’ version of Jason Verrett. The offense needs to produce to take pressure off this young pitching staff.
