No, he didn't submit and it was for a belt.

Was it just me, or was that a boring fight?  Bring back old fashioned Boxing! No leaning, no foot stomping... just jab jab cross and some great footwork!

He was pretty much motionless for over a minute, covering his head with his hands, bleeding all over the canvis, taking multiple heavy shots to the side and back of the head. For Aldo, I thought the referee should have intervened earlier.

No need for permanent injury beyond the standard permanent injury

I agree with you, I miss all those great boxing fights as well and have fond memories watching all the great heavyweight and middleweight and welterweight fights with my dad growing up in late 70s/80s. MMA is a different speed, way more violent, which is hard, comparitively, but the UFC isn't limited by promoters the same way boxing is and has a lot of good matches. That Aldo fight was brutal to watch. Poor man!
