I think in hindsight we should have done that one time and nipped it. Instead we dabbled in this and that. Too late for shutdown, let's distance, protect the vulnerable, wash hands, avoid crowds, limit large gatherings and suck it up.

Didn't realize shutting down the Country would get of a virus. Lol

We already shut it down and it didn't get rid of it. The virus may stop spreading briefly as rapidly. But its not going away. As soon as you reopen again the virus will be right there waiting

It's amazing how short some people's memories are.  Remember the food/supply shortages at stores and skyrocketing unemployment (even including hospital workers!) after just a few weeks?  Even dictator errr governor Newsom was forced to pivot hard on his initial lockdown timetable, most likely after his advisors quietly informed him that the devastation caused by an extended lockdown was going to be worse than the virus itself.  Thinking another round of lockdowns is going to be "the cure" is insanity.
