Would San Diego fans welcome an expansion franchise?

LA never wanted the Chargers, still don’t, and the brand has ZERO cache in LA. Had the Charger name and records remained in SD, we could be just like Cleveland, who lost their team, but kept the name, so when a new team came back, they could slide into the history of Browns football in Cleveland.SD will not get the Chargers back, wont even get a new Chargers, but this community would LOVE and expansion team. New team, new name, new owner, new stadium, etc, San Diego is a football town first, always has been, and can be again.

Honestly, if the Chargers came back, even with Dean, I’d be back on board most likely. As far as an expansion team, I definitely would be on board with getting one here if the possibility comes up, but it would take me a while to become a true die hard. Also, I don’t have the NFL appetite I used to have. I’m starting to turn into what LA was pre NFL return. Someone who likes picking what games to watch, when to watch, what my fantasy team is doing, and if I feel like doing something else that day, I’ll do that, so if that team sucks for a while it may turn me off. I’m guessing I’m not special and a lot of people share this view, so I think the smartest, most profitable play by the NFL would be move the Chargers to SD, then expand in LA and create an LAfC effect up there

Although I technically don't count for this debate as a lifelong OC resident,(but a San Diego Chargers fan from Air Coryell until Jan. 2017) I haven't/won't adopt a new team that's not named "San Diego Chargers". But I would be stoked for SD county residents that get a new NFL team, especially one that's Spanos free. My team was & is the San Diego Chargers, so barring a future miracle, I've been rendered teamless for life by the greedy Spanos fuckwits!

While the Chargers would certainly be preferred, the NFL in any form would be welcome here in San Diego.  It's such an elite sport and would likely take only a short time to build a huge fan base.  San Diego Sharks; how's that for a nickname!  I'd welcome any team with open arms.

There is no question that San Diego is the next expansion city unless someone buys the Chargers from the moronic Soanos family and moves them back.
