Mark Loretta gets this organization, and that will help a new manager. Ron Washington won’t have a line up card shoved down his throat, whereas Loretta is more of a peace keeper, and given his knowledge of the organizational game plan, he fits the profile much more comfortably.

Of the options this is my favorite. While I think Washingtons attitude might be what they need, I don't really think he's a fit nor do I really want to go with another Manager whose been around a ton of years and probably isn't as motivated as he once was. As for Jayce Tingler, it's just too soon.

He was a 2 time all star when he played for the padres and spent 9 years in the front office. He understands what the Padres need and what the fans want. He has never been a manager but got experience working as bench coach under Maddon. I think Loretta as manager and Ausmus as bench coach would be a winning combination for San Diego.

That would be a loved coaching staff, until they play like the Padres!

Who should be the next Padres manager?
