There are certain things everyone should be granted like health care. The problem is how to pay for it.

Honestly no its not, but its definitely important and its pretty ridiculous the lack of affordable care, which is a mix of insurance companies and politicians faults probably as well.

However, I am against the government deciding to spends everyone who pays taxes money without a nationwide vote on it.

Derrick McQuinn

Really. Free health care is a right? That's really what the question says, you can get anything for a price. Is it a right means is it free. So, do it but ask Canada how well it works first.

VERIFIED

The constitution is amazing but isn't the end all be all for general human rights.
I think that affordable health care should be available to all people. The insurance garbage is why healthcare is f-ed here.

It should be a right but the U.S doesn’t want to help anyone out.. they want to make things hard for people

Definetely not a human right, but I think it's something as a society we shouod strive for.

Josh Liston

It doesn’t have to explicitly state a right for it to exist. We, as humans, have fundamental rights, whether they be listed or not. same sex marriage is guaranteed by the constitution, but the constitution never says anything about same sex marriage. Heck, it doesn’t even say anything about heterosexual marriage, so by this logic, that may not even be legal

Austin schwerdt

Honest question, is anyone denied care if rushed to an emergency room?
I think it's a right but not by the US or constitution...just by people being good people.

You don’t have to agree with me on a personal level, but legally, health care is a right. As of 1948, the United States has been recognizing health care as a right, that is why we have public programs to help people that cannot afford it. Once again, your personal opinion may be it is a privilege, but legally it is a right

i disagree with you. health care is NOT a right.

the BEST thing the government can do is STEP AWAY, so companies can COMPETE for our health business...

We need to overhaul the health care system. It's too expensive as is

I’m not smart enough to answer that. I just know we are all one serious illness away from losing everything!

what are other things we should be granted?
ALSO, if it’s a right, then shouldn’t it be free?

Is health care a right?
