With modern MLB defense using a hard shift on good hitters, how do you think Tony Gwynn would have handled the aggressive shift?

He would have done well. Hitting over .400 in multiple seasons.

Be the same. He was as good as he could have been.

Not too well. Hitting less than. 300 for a career average.

Tony was a student of the game and as well prepared as anybody who had ever stepped to the plate. They wouldn't have suggested the defender on him as he could spare the ball and place it on much where he wanted, when he wanted. However if they decuded to do it, I have no don't he would have hit it or bunted right where the defense was supposed to be and excelled.
