Ca Governor Newsom, said “we’re not going back to normal “ unless a vaccine is found. What are you thoughts?

Sergio Salgado

Yes he is right. Even of the virus is not spreading that fast people will not attend big gatherings, go on cruises, airplanes, etc. Its going to be a brutal year or until there is some type of vaccine. And it's unfortunate its during an election year so all politicians have an agenda

Toby McDonald

We can’t wait for a vaccine to be found, people’s livelihoods are at stake. Ca state is on the brink of bankruptcy. Business need to be allowed to open and residents allowed to go back to work. Federal money will eventually run dry for those unemployed. It seems to me that our Governor, respectfully keeps moving the goalpost for opening up the state. Now, he wants a vaccine available before this happens. Critics of the POTUS, warranted or unwarranted say he’s a fascist, but Newsom, is staring to act like he’s the King.

I won’t take a vaccine created out if this nonsense to begin with. Now there are people looking at this virus like the plague who will run to get it. It will make some companies a shit ton of money. The numbers are showing that the true death rate is around .001 which is similar to the flu. If also needs to be in out population to us to develop antibodies as a society. I have never had a flu shot (for example) because it breaks down your immune system. If you treat yourself good and have a good immune system then these things just aren’t necessary. As a side note I haven’t had the flu for over 10 years.

Unless we have a vaccine the virus is not going away

Disagree, and this is the point where i think its' ridiculous that this decision is only up to one man, it'd be one thing if that was a group of people from different backgrounds. Anyways it seems like a lot of counties are starting to do their own thing. I feel like he's overplayed his cards. On top of that if this something comes back later or another pandemic happens definitely going to struggle to get people to listen or go along with him again.

Derrick McQuinn

A vaccine is not a panacea, rather it is our best protection from the virus. That said, armed with testing and treatment, we can go back to the new normal. No hand shakes, some distancing, masks and gel/hand washing for all.

VERIFIED

No way, I’m not getting a damn vaccine. I work in a school and have never once in my life gotten a flu shot. Your normal vaccines that have been around forever l like measles, small pox, etc yeah but not some rushed international vaccine for a damn cold virus. Fuck that! We should not be forced to ever get any vaccine, and this is going to raise hell in our country if they try to make this mandatory. It all goes back to my big pharma collusion conspiracy. Someone is in someone’s pocket and all these politicians are just fucking puppets! Pisses me off.

This seems silly to me. At the earliest, that means these same stay at home orders would last until March of 2021. People cannot live like that. Considering the US is passed Great Depression levels of unemployment, another 10 months of that will result in mobs, looting, strikes, etc.

Max McElroy

A vaccine is great for next year but the vulnerable and elderly are overwhelmingly the targets of COVID19. Back to work so our economy does not slip into depression. The governor is playing politics. This should not be political, it should be a debate about health vs. economic damage.

Ya definitely not going to be the first in line

I think we're reaching that point, seems like a lot of counties are starting to take that power away by refusing to abide.
