Former Charger fans...if they moved to Vegas instead of L.A. would you still be a fan?

Everyone knows that they are the San Diego Chargers. They didn't just leave, the organization turned their back on us in a foolish attempt to try to win over LA, a city that doesn't care about a lot of their own teams let alone this irrelevant one. But regardless of the city, I can't support the idea of a victory parade in any another city for these inept clowns.

I would be a fan, even in LA, if Dean just came out and said, "we tried San Diego" and thanked SD fans for 50+ years of support. Instead he left and only mentioned us when trying to look good in the media.

Jamie Jazmin

Growing up in San Diego it is indoctrinated into your blood to Hate LA sports team, True San Diegans could never root for an LA team. Vegas is fun and exciting, as much as it hurts to see them leave in San Diego I would still be a fan if they had moved to Vegas

Justin Carpenter

As a San Diegon native born and raised, I was raised in this culture of hate anything LA...I mean they got all the sports as of now and even in the live music concerts industry they are quicking our ass, theam parks, etc etc....Beat LA is a Daygo thing...so he'll yeah Vegas would had been a better way to keep me as a fan

Sergio Zuñiga

Nah still would have been pisse, Dean Spanos just sucks

Derrick McQuinn

The Chargers do not represent any community, any city, or any legacy. By supporting them, are are merely supporting the disingenuous, arrogant, and incompetent Spanos family trust fund fools. They are ... “The Spanos Chargers”

Michael Dunbar

It would def make it easier because we have no rival ties to LV but it all comes down to how Spanos treated SD on the way out... I almost feel like the raiders extended the invitation to Oakland fans to root for Vegas and that they still care about raider nation in Oakland. If spanus pulled the same crap on the way out going to LV as he did going to LA it might not have made any difference

Guys night Lab (Jesus)

If they would have moved to Vegas instead of LA , then yes I would of still been a fan.. but not a fan of the LA chargers

Bernard Thompson

I'll be a Charger fan again the second Spanos sells the team to a competent owner.

Rob Ward

Not if Spanos burned the city down on the way out the door the way he did on the way to LA. I maintain, there could have been a way to keep some of the SD fanbase with better messaging, including SD in everything they do. But "turning the page"....cost them everyone.

Bobby

It would be entirely less offensive, c'mon be honest.
It was one thing to move, another to move to LA.
At least Vegas would have been their own town instead of the Chargers being the 8th most popular sports franchise in LA.

I moved to Vegas from San Diego so it would be a no brainer.

The Chargers deserve the Karma they get and the Karma they will get. As pointed out above and correctly so, the Spanos are nothing more than a bunch of spoiled trust-fund brats who have very little going for them beyond the disillusionment of who they are fanned by out of control egos. The Chargers abandoned their fanbase over three years ago and will never have those fans again, nor should they. If anything, the Chargers are benefiting from COVID-19 only because no fans are allowed in So-Fi. That will change once COVID restrictions are lifted within a year or so. When that happens, you will see about 50-60 thousand fans at Chargers games with 90 percent of them being fans of the opposing teams. This will especially be true when the Chargers are playing teams such as the Raiders, Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Bears, Eagles, Patriots, 49ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, Saints, Ravens, Giants, Vikings, and the main tenant of the building the Rams (when it's technically a Chargers home game ... it will really be a Rams home game. They say "Rams House" for a reason). Chargers have no legacy ... and NO rings. Period.

Darryl Martin

Won't be a fan no matter where they move unless it's back to San Diego.

Chris Chessman

100% yes. I can't even call them the Los Angeles Chargers. It took me 20 years to become a Clippers fan. I may never be a Chargers fan again. I clean my shed and yard on Sundays now. I barely even watch the NFL because the chargers left San Diego.

Isaac Ramirez

I know a bunch of Charger fans that wanted this to happen.

Fuck no. 56 years in SD. No way would I be OK with them being anywhere. They are the San Diego Chargers...period!

It's not just that they moved to LA, it's that LA didn't even want them! I would have been salty for sure, but would have recovered, and become a fan again. Now it is organic to be a Raiders fan after seeing that stadium. It didn't translate as well on TV as SoFi, but in real life, it is beautiful!

Susan Rogers von Mueller

I'm convinced they'll return to San Diego where they belong. Had they moved to Vegas that would have never happened because of their stadium. In LA they are renting, irrelevant and about 12th in the pecking order of sports teams. Here, they were 1st. It makes sense for them to come back- with new ownership, new stadium. They would once again own fhis city.

Couldn’t do it, I’d probably be less “salty” but my favorite, life long nfl team doesn’t exist unless it plays for and represents my hometown.

Joe Rigby

I voted "yes" only because I may not have had the deep hatred that I have for the Chargers now if they moved to Las Vegas. Unless the Chargers are back in San Diego they will never be my team no matter what city they represent.
As a lifelong San Diegan, I have no interest and will always root against L.A. sports teams. If I do happen to watch on a rare occasion (Like this past Sunday when Patrick Mahomes was playing against them) I get nothing but joy seeing the Chargers Spanos all over themselves like they did and have always done my entire life.
The unexpected positive that came from the Chargers moving. I am not upset on Sundays anymore, I drink way less, I can enjoy the beautiful San Diego lifestyle on Sundays because I don't worry about watching a lame-ass Chargers team break my heart every weekend.

Jason

San Diego Chargers or bust.
And since those buster's (Crapnos fuckwits) moved the Chargers from their only true home, I'm (likely) forever a teamless NFL fan since Jan. 2017 going forward.
Why couldn't Dean & his dipshit sons have been in that chopper instead of Kobe & the other unfortunate souls?
Fuck the Spanos's!

Phil "Doc Orange County" Herrup

Gotta ask, does that mean no matter where they play (ie-LA Chargers, London Chargers, St. Louis Chargers, etc) you're all in again as long as the Crapnos clan doesn't own them?

No way less offensive. 56 years in SD. The only place they belong is San Diego period!
