Should Sided keep the debate bookmark feature?

Sided.co is too new to ditch anything so long as it is not difficult to use. Let's see some volume before a ditch is considered.

I think it would be better for people to have the option to select to receive notifications on debates they start or have commented and voted on. There is the option if someone replies to your post, but you have to log on to see them. Perhaps an expansion of the notification options will be easier to implement on the app. But should be something to look into as it will help make it more efficient for users to stay engaged in debates they've participated in. Also perhaps a notification option when a new debate is initiated as well.

Didn't even know this existed, but now that I know it's there, will definitely use it... On a different note, you should add "hover help" so it will tell you what some of the icons are. For example, what does the "fire" image represent?

I don’t think it’s bothering anyone. Plus, I think sided has a much cleaner look now. Only add things right now, not take away.

Sided with ditch it as an “average Joe” user like me doesn’t use (or knew it existed) and didn’t have an “other” option to choose. However, if that’s the only or best way to tag or bookmark debates I’ve engaged in for easy reference maybe it’s better to keep it.

More notification would be better than the bookmark feature. It's not clear at all where you go to find what you've bookmarked.

So I NEVER use bookmarks, and when I asked our DEV team about bookmarks on Sided, they explained the notion of coming back to the debate later, so I started using the bookmark feature to see if I liked it and followed through. Then with the Sided re design, I was still using bookmarks and tracking the stats, barely anyone is using them, and now I can no longer find the bookmark icon, so if I did bookmark a debate, the symbol is no longer visible, so I can’t go to the bookmarked content, because there is no bookmark symbol. For me it’s a feature that is built, and we can use it later, but for now it’s an unused icon.

Definitely agree with more/better notifications. We've been testing this in the app internally for the last week or so and having push notifications really helps keep the conversation going.

Agree Edwin. Hover feature would be helpful.

Sam Shull

Great suggestion Edwin! Explanations on hover will definitely help. The 'fire' icon shows when a debate is trending, which is a measure of how engaging the debate is (votes, comments, etc)

Thanks Joe. Sounds like we need to do a better job telling users about our features!
